Day One - Teddy Bear Collection at Polka Theatre, River Thames Cruise, Hamley's of London - London
Enjoy a visit to Polka Theatre, the home of the Teddy Bear Museum’s unique collection of teddy bears. On then for a change of pace with a cruise on the River Thames before an afternoon visit to Hamley's of London, one of the most famous and biggest toy shops in the world with its collection of Teddy Bears. Check-in at your centrally located hotel for the next 2 nights.
Day Two - International Teddy Bear Fair - London
Today enjoy a visit to The London International Antique Dolls, Toys, Miniatures and Teddy Bear Fair at Kensington Town Hall. Rest of the day is at leisure for independent sightseeing.
Day Three - World of Bears - The Wookey Bear Collection - Somerset
Depart London for the journey to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, for an optional sightseeing tour or some free time for shopping. Continue to Cheddar Gorge, deep in the Mendip Hills and one of the finest limestone Gorges in the country, for a stop at the World of Bears, also known as The Gorge Bear Company, are based in Cheddar Gorge and stock thousands of teddy bears of all makes, shapes and sizes. These range from collectable bears to popular brands such as Steiff, as well as nostalgic classic teddies. This will be followed by a visit to The Wookey Bear Collection, which features furry friends from the British Bear Collection and bears by the legendary German makers Steiff. Continue to your hotel in Somerset for overnight.
Day Four - Teddy Bear House - Dorset Teddy Bear Museum Hardy's Cottage - Salisbury
Depart for the journey into Dorset, an area of outstanding beauty for a visit to the Teddy Bear House in Dorchester. On arrival meet Edward Bear and his extended family of human sized teddy bears as they busy themselves or relax around their Edwardian style home. A visit will also be included to the Dorset Teddy Bear Museum, for an opportunity to marvel at the evocative and atmospheric displays of the history of the teddy bear, featuring examples from the very earliest about a century ago up to the present day. Famous bears such as Rupert Bear, Winnie the Pooh, and Paddington are also on display. It also houses many collectors and limited editions. Thomas Hardy made Dorchester famous in his novel, the Mayor of the Casterbridge and a visit will be included to Hardy's Cottage, a small thatched cottage where the novelist and poet was born in 1840. Stops will be made at quaint villages before continuing to Salisbury to check-in at your hotel for overnight.
Day Five - Windsor Castle - Asquiths in Eton - Heathrow
Enjoy some free time to explore Salisbury before continuing to Windsor for a visit to the Castle, the home of England's monarchs for nearly 900 years. Finally some last minute Teddy Bear shopping at Asquiths in Eton, one of the World's first Teddy Bear Shops. Continue to your hotel near Heathrow Airport for overnight.
Day Six - Airport Transfer
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. |
